Why do things suddenly vanish?
Over the past week several things have just vanished

1) My bike lights. I ALWAYS keep my bike lightS on top of my intercom. I only use them (rarely) if using my bike at night. Last week I decided to do a bit of maintenance on my bike and went to charge up my lights while I was at it. Nowhere to be seen. Searched draws, cupboards, everywhere. Gone

2) Stamps. A few days ago I purchased a book of stamps. I used one when I got home and put them back in my wallet. An hour or so later my son asked for one. Got my wallet out and they weren't there. Had to buy some more.

3) Money. This morning my son gave me £12 to purchase something for him. I put the 2 pound coins in my pocket and a tenner in my wallet next to my own 2 £20 notes. Got to the shop and no tenner, just my 2 £20 notes. My wallet has a clip around the notes to stop them from falling out and I remember clipping the note in.

Theres been a few other little things disappear as well, Its driving me mad. It seems I'm not alone, judging by the comments beneath this article

It's the Borrowers.
Damned things run riot near me too.
Like an 'a' in your question title! :)
I bought a mini keyboard and mouse for our smart TV. Cannot find it anywhere.

A slotted spoon and the blades to my mini blender...gone.

It's a mystery.
I have a mischievous urge to report this thread and get Ed to make it disappear.
I used to lose a lot of small things like pony-tail bands, pens and other stuff.

I had no idea where it all went until I passed one of my moggies on the stairs and he had a pen in his mouth. He had a stash of things behind the sofa, an armchair and some under a unit.

You have an invisible cat

Unfortunatly not goalie, They kept her in hospital, just waiting hear what test result are. Thanks anyway.
I know for a fact that I sometimes put things in the most ridiculous places and I just have to wait until they turn up. Yesterday I put a scarf I had been wearing, on the hook on the back of the bathroom door underneath my towelling gown which I wear when I get out of the shower.I'd no idea that I'd done that until I saw it today and I have no recollection of putting it there. I mean, why would I do that? It's really easy to misplace small things but ummmm how did you manage to lose a keyboard and mouse? :-)
Probably sat on them.
Barsel...I have no idea. My OH says my son sold it for drugs :-) (he is joking of course)
I don't know about others. I often misplace things but sometimes you cannot see something when you're actually staring at it. Spooky.

Actually, while this thread was a bit 'jokey' and the replies were a bit 'jokey' too, I am serious about the things just vanishing, its weird. Some months ago, I 'tidied' up my photo collection. Every photo with my mate on it had vanished from the box I keep my photos in. He died a few years ago and my photo memories have disappeared with him. Cant explain it.

Its not as though my home is cluttered either which would make things harder to find if lost. Apart from my book collection my home is minimalist and I'm a neatness freak. Everything in its place.
Nailit, I am know that you will know that our brains can play tricks on us. I am not talking about hallucinations and psychosis (horrible things). But our recollection of things. Still looking for stuff and hope that it finds you.

My Lithium scrambled brain is an advantage in that my memory is shot to hell and my thinking process is non-existent.

I can, however, talk about cats for hours :-)

Wolf, I am by nature sceptical of anything strange or weird (I was once the token sceptic in a paranormal research group) and I know about the fallibility of human memory (I did 'O' level psychology when I was in my early 20 and retained an interest in how memory functions ever since) I'm also very methodical by nature and a creature of habit. So when my bike lights go missing from where I always keep them it freaks me out a little, When I clip a £10 note in my wallet and get to the shop and its gone I start to question my self, when all my dead mates photos have disappeared from my collection, I seriously start to ask questions.
Its all very strange...
Naiit, I am known for knowing where everything I own is. If someone says to me, have you got such and such a thing, I can say yes or no straight away and if I say yes, I can then tell them exactly where it is.This is because I was brought up with that saying about everything has a place and everything in it's place. If I know I have something and it's not in it's place it freaks me out, and I cannot settle until I have found it.On the rare occasions when I cannot find it, it usually turns up in the wrong place and then I can't understand how it got there. You've explained about how you are similar to me about things, but obviously I don't know what has happened to the things you are missing. When one of my daughters was younger, she went through all my photos and if there was one of her she didn't like, she destroyed it. I didn't realise this until I saw all the gaps in the photo albums. There is always an explanation and you are intelligent enough to know that no magic has taken place.I really hope you find the photos of your friend. Is there a chance that you took them out and put them somewhere perhaps thinking you would one day put them into a special album? It's only a guess though.I do hope you get the answers you are looking for. x
Nailit you need to Nailit down lol

Bernie, I certainly do, lol

Barsel, I honestly don't know what happened to my mates photos. All my photos are kept in a box, I wouldn't have taken them out for a special album...I don't do sentiment. I just don't know. But I posted this today as my son left £12 on my kitchen table for me (only other thing on the table is a bowl of fruit) I clipped the note in my wallet and put the coins in my pocket and headed straight for the shop. Opened my wallet and no note. Back home and its not on the table either. Cant explain it.
