A few recommendations from the wine rack at Chateau Sunny Dave :
Yapp Brothers - Beaujolais Blanc
https://www.yapp.co.uk/Wine-List/Burgundy-Wines/Beaujolais-wines/Beaujolais-Villages-Arnaud-Aucoeur-Vieilles-Vignes-Blanc-2016/
A last taste of Summer - fresh and full of flavour, with a flinty aftertaste that lingers - sip, don't glug, and allow the flavours to develop. Excellent with an (indoor?) BBQ or as an aperitif before a Sunday Roast.
Yapp's Saumur is also very nice - light and gentle - ideal lightly chilled with Fish and Salads - good price for a wine that we don't see often enough in the UK :

Ocado - Dried Grape Shiraz

This yo-yos up and down in price - usually a little cheaper than the nominal £10.99 - but is excellent value even at list price.
Smooth as a very smooth thing that's having a smooth day - the best wine to go with bangers and mash or a hearty stew that I've found for quite a while. Or just open the screw top and have a glass as a treat on a chilly evening in front of the fire. Lovely stuff.
Aldi - Ghost Vines Lodi Zinfandel

This ought to be terrible - a Lodi Zin for this price is just crazy - in fact I almost didn't risk trying it. Which would have been a big mistake - it's lovely - a bit lighter than a Lodi should be (but that's not a real issue), but full of taste and soft fruit flavour. It's a serious bargain which I suspect won't last long - fill yer boots and drink as your 'house red' with just about anything.
Aldi - Grande Alberone Black Bio
https://www.aldi.co.uk/grande-alberone-organic-black-bio/p/076220158755900
Again - one I approached with extreme caution - no declared region or vintage - just Italian Table Wine. It could have been a shocker - but it wasn't. I've got a rackful now (hence I can risk telling you lot about it). Probably the best £7.99 wine I've drunk this year - huge flavour, big fruit and (as the blurb says) a hint of chocolate in the aftertaste. Drink with your Sunday Roast & stash a few away for Christmas Dinner. Trust me, I'm a Dave.
Bottoms Up
