Iphone Not Receiving Emails And Ipad Iffy Too.
4 Answers
My seven year old iPhone 4S will receive some emails but not send any.
My 3 year old iPad will receive some emails but happily send all.
I have no idea how many emails I am missing, but a number, including a confirmation from BA flight booking. (I know I can get a copy in Mybooking, but still concerned as to why no email.) There are a number of others I know are missing.
What can be causing this??

Missing emails on mobile devices usually result from an email service treating them as spam on the host server and not forwarding them to the relevant device(s). Don't go to your email app. Instead open your web browser and go to the website of your email provider. Log into your account there and look for a folder named 'spam', 'junk' or similar. Your missing incoming mail is likely to be hiding in there.
An inability to send mail usually results from either incorrect server settings within the email app or through not having 'authentication' turned on. Which email service do you use? (i.e. what comes after the @ sign in your email address?)

Thanks all, especially Chris.
Found the emails I had been looking for in the junk mail, plus another 103. Surprised as I always fly with BA and get a confirmation email within minutes. Why my system decided to treat it as junk, who knows.
And my phone (my email is Outlook) accepted an email to myself and sent it.
So, that seems to be working.
I need to go to classes. I need to know more about this stuff.
New year’s resolution- up to the library and get it sorted.
