Windows Defender Stopped Working.

Hi all. When i click on windows defender, i am notified that this program is turned off.
It says if you are using another program that checks for harmful or unwanted software,use the action centre to check that programs status,but the program is running. Then it says if you would like to use this program click here.
I have disabled Avast free anti virus,but still get this message.
This program is blocked by group policy. For more information contact your system administrator (error code 0x8oo7o4ec)

If you've got Avast on your computer I've no idea why you should want to use Windows Defender but it's almost certainly the presence of Avast that is causing the problem. If you've got Avast on your computer I've no idea why you should want to use Windows Defender but it's almost certainly the presence of Avast that is causing the problem. If you really do want to ditch Avast then uninstall it completely, preferably by running Avastclear.exe:

Windows Defender should then function normally again.
