How two faced...... lets be honest here, she made some disparaging remarks about how she treated her grandson, including pinning him down in his room, then took a fit because many on here remarked how perhaps this was not the kindest thing to do to a child with problems.

You might not like everything anyone does but it doesn't mean that you don't care about their well-being AL. You and I don't always see eye to eye to say the least, but I'd bend over backwards to help you if you were in trouble as I would with anyone else on here. It's not being 'two-faced' it's being a decent human being. x

I've never criticised her handling of her grandson's bad behaviour, I have only had sympathy for her. She's a genuinely nice lady and a valued member of AB.

The subject of the OP has strong views on physical punishment for children which many on here have challenged. She came for sympathy and got a lot of criticism -one expects this on a public forum especially when physical abuse towards a child is 'normalised' by a 'concerned' grandparent. Personally I find' Where is ( add username) I hope you're ok, we are here if you need us' to be code for, 'come back we want some more juicy details'.

Nor mine and I'm not going to rake it up (the thread) but Jourdain explained in a later post that her description of what happened with her grandson was figurative and not actually a physical pinning down.
Anyway I genuinely hope she's OK.

That says more about you than us AL. I'm merely hoping that Jourdain is okay because she was clearly worried sick by developments within her family, I don't care about your so called 'juicy details'.
I've had a rough time and not always handled things well but the compassion of some AB'ers has been a genuine help, and I hope it helps Jourdain too.

yes it actually does. I live in the real world, not a make believe one where everyone gives virtual hugs to people they do not know. There are plenty on here who would agree with me so please don't group everyone on here into your 'us'.

Okay let me rephrase that for you sine you seem incapable of accepting what I said earlier. No-one else on this thread (ie my 'us') has expressed the same opinion as you. You might want 'juicy details' 'we' apparently do not, hence it does indeed say more about you than it does 'us'. Is THAT clear enough for you AL? I could get a whole lot more antsy about it for you if you feel more comfortable with that but again that will say more about you than it does 'us'. Have a great evening.

kval you have misunderstood me. I don't or never do want 'juicy details' Seroislu I could not care less. People who show 'concern' such as 'I'm always here to listen' are wanting more info, curiosity, call it what you want its not real concern. You can get as antsy as you like it bothers me not. You are of no concern to me and are a random and anonymous poster on a forum. I don't mean that in a disparaging way, its just no one on here is of any interest to me bar a vehicle for distraction and sometimes, with a small minority of posters, intelligent debate. I also enjoy answering questions I actually have experience of, rather than what many do, just posting links from Google. That's maybe why I have 14 best answers so far. That's as far as it goes. I'm sure your fan club is dying to know what this 'rough time' you seem to have had is, although you never do quite tell do you? But they will 'support' you and massage your ego. Perhaps that's why you are here? I'm not one to judge, just remember I really don't care...in the nicest possible way...have an awesome evening.
