firstly apologies if this is in the wrong category.
I am looking to get a t-shirt printed with my own design.
However over the years i have had many printed T's, some last well and others ,
just don't seem to last before the print starts to come off.
My question is what is the name of the type/method of T-shirt printing where the print seems to actually be inked into the material.
As opposed to the print where it is clearly an added on vinyl type of logo.
My ink based shirts seem to stand the test of time......and washing over several years, but most vinyl style ones don't seem to hold up before they crack, peel or come off altogether.

So i am looking for the name/style of printing where my image would be effectively printed into the material, so i can search the internet for companies that may print my own design into a T-shirt.
I do understand that certain images and colours will be affected by the printing of them on different colours of shirt, which may be a reason for the vinyl style of print.
Many Thanks

Screen printing.

Yep, silk screen printing vs heat transfer x
If you've got a printer (inkjet or laser) you can buy transfers that you can then print on and iron on yourself.

You even get ones for putting onto dark/coloured t-shirts.

Depending on the transfer you either print your image normally or you print a mirror image of the image.
I find Vinyl Screen Printing is the best method to get a decent quality print that will last instead of crack after the first wash.
