My New Samsung Galaxy Tablet - Help With Set Up Please!

Have just bought a Galaxy A 7.0" LTE Tablet and think I have set up everything ok (used to Windows not Android!) but having problem viewing movies which was ok on my previous Android Tablet.

My home holiday movies play as soon as I click on them but I have some movie clips saved from You Tube downloads which will not play and a message appears 'unable to find application to perform this action'

I have download the app for VLC media player which I used on previous tablet and this plays movies saved on a memory stick if I connect it directly to the tablet via the micro usb connection.

I have saved all my required docs from my PC to My Docs on the tablet and everything else works inc. my photos. Have I missed downloading some sort of app?

As far as i know VLC should be able to play your youtube downloads.

Have you downloaded the youtube app?

No - I have not yet downloaded any more apps except Bing and Avast (which I use on my laptop).

I will download the You Tube app and see if that helps

Hello again Spathiphyllum

Well I did as you said re Youtube but it would not download the app so I had to go into Bing and download it after first going into security to approve the download! This did not make any difference but I now have YouTube. So.……..I tried again to download some movies off my movie memory stick and it kept saying 'cannot download as wifi switched off'. So I switched wifi on temporarily and the movies were then showing in UBS and I copied and pasted to My Docs. I can however play the movies direct from my memory stick without wifi on if I do not want to save them to my tablet - which is better as there is very little space on my 8gb tablet.
The reason I have wifi switched off is that I have an EE sim in the tablet which I use all of the time away from home and I only use my laptop at home thru my Broadband.

One final question if you would help me again? I have a slot next to the sim slot for a micro sd card? If I insert one there say 16gb will I have the option when I download anything to chose where to save it?
