Whatsapp Deleted Chat - Too Late To Recover?
9 Answers
Hi, I accidentally deleted a precious Whatsapp chat on 27th May. Is it too late to recover it now (1st June) and if not, how do I do that? The online information says about reinstalling, but I'm worried in case my back ups aren't there properly and I lose even more.
My phone is an LG Sensation. Looks like I'm backing up daily to my gmail account. That drive shows two backups, both early this morning. One is for Whatsapp, the other for my phone number for 18 apps. Would those updates have overridden the one I am trying to recover?
Recovery software advertised as free seems to be a "tease" - lets you see it, but not actually recover it without a purchase. Advice appreciated please - but keep it easy to follow, ta.

Pixie374 - that's interesting. I did text again soon after, but not immediately, and it didn't come back so maybe there's a time element involved there. Useful to know though.
Old_Geezer - thought they could send the messages back, bit similar to the above, by using export, but it came back in weird text format.
Zacs-Master - will check out the link, ta.

Sone time ago I had a similar issue and ended up searching for files, renaming existing data ones, and copying over what appeared to be a back-up and renaming it so it seemed current. Would not attempt to explain here though, was the sort of thing one needed to do as trial & error and ensure one could put back as it was if all went haywire. But looking at the existing files probably gives a clue as to how to spot any back-up.
