prog called fire daemon ?

My pc got infected a day or so back with a virus.i have removed said virus but since then i have had some strange problems ie firewall & anti-virus having to be re-installed and now a program called 'firedaemon' errors at start-up.i have never heard of it and from what i can see after a quick google search i have to pay to dl it.

can anyone tell me what it is and if i need it ?! if not how do i cleanly uninstall it ?
