I just cleared all my temporary files using my new broadband software, and despite making sure cookies, history and auto complete were on, it refuses to use these functions once I turn the computer off, and though all show the right settings, I have to log in to every site each day whatever I try.

I also have Zone Alarm newly installed which may be making problems, which came as part of the package. Any ideas what's stopping the cookies from being saved etc? It's all using NTL netguard now as well on IE6.

It sounds as thought there is an option somewhere saying disable cookies.

Check IE6 as there is an option there to disable cookies. Look at "Tools", "Internet Options" and "Privacy".

If you have your privacy set to "High" this can disable cookies.

Maybe Zone Alarm or (more likely) NTL Netguard is setting it to a high setting.

Read the help for NTL Netguard and IE to see what they say about privacy setting and cookies.

I've done that as directed by another site, but it's been ignored. I will now dig in the details of the new software as it's clearly overriding things.
