Opening Mms On My New Smartphone - Help Please!

Have now got to grips with using a smartphone I think but problems with MMS (is that rceiving and sending a photo as opposed to SMS?)

Just received a text which said MMS and had a photo attached but can not find out how to open the photo! Also I tried to send a photo and did not know how.

Have looked in all my apps but none refer to photos. Please explain in simple terms what I must do. I have nothing showing in the File Mgr app - it is empty,
