Mobile Phone Issue - Unable To Delete Anything From "Trash"

Hi techie Abers out there ... all of a sudden, today, I can't delete anything from my "trash" on my mobile phone (it's a Sony Xperia) .... no problem with getting emails in, and no problems with deleting stuff from "junk", just can't delete from "trash". Interestingly, Mr. Chox is having the same problem with his Samsung Galaxy A51. Any thoughts, folks?

I don't have a trash folder, so when you say trash, do you mean the "deleted items" folder??
Are you using an app to view your emails; or do you access it through a browser??
I have an Xperia and have just checked my hotmail email, via Google Chrome and was able to delete an item from my "deleted items" folder.

Are you opening the items in the Trash folder and swiping to get the delete option?
