Computer Mouse

I have an Advent computer mouse that uses 2xaaa batteries. I seem to be getting through quite a lot of batteries, so I would like to know if it is possible to swap them for re-chargeable batteries. If so I could recharge them every couple of weeks. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people out there, so thanks in advance.

Rechargeable batteries should work just fine.

consider upgrading to a cordless optical mouse, they turn off automatically when still so use minimal power, a set of batteries last many months in mine.

Or use a USB wired mouse. No batteries required.

Rechargeable cells should work OK. However they only provide 1.2V each, rather than the 1.5V that 'normal' batteries do. When compared to such 'normal' batteries, they're starting from a lower voltage, so they might not last as long.

As long as you're using alkaline batteries though (and not the dreaded zinc carbon ones), a set of 'normal' batteries should last quite a long time anyway. Mouse manufacturers like to say 'up to a year' but that must be for very light usage; I reckon on perhaps two to three months for a pair of batteries.

As you can buy 36 good quality AAA alkaline batteries for £8 in B&M, that's only about 45p per pair, which I reckon isn't bad for several months use:

My Apple mouse uses 2 AA batteries and gets through them in about a month.

My Jelly mouse uses just 1 AA battery and lasts for about a year.
