Hello folk,
I have been off line for a while due to illness, (not covid, just have had a CT
scan to see what the trouble is) back on just
a few weeks but someone of the sites I cannot get into.
I have been asked for my password for Microsoft but I cannot remember
it - how can I find out what it is.
I am also trying to set up a site that i can type a letter on the laptop and
print out (I used to do this via my email but alas I cannot send or receive
emails) I think the laptop is sick (lol)
Thanking you in anticipation of your help.

If you simply want to type a letter and print it out, you just need a word processing program. You've already got a very basic one on your computer, called WordPad. To find it, click on the Start button and scroll down the list of programs until you get to Windows Accessories. Click on it and you'll find WordPad listed within the submenu that appears.
However most people prefer to use something a bit less basic. The most popular freebies here seem to be OpenOffice Writer (which, unsurprisingly, is part of the full OpenOffice suite of programs)

and the equivalent program (also called Writer) from the LibreOffice suite
