I am having terrible trouble, trying to renew my driving licence on the Gov.uk dvla website I get past all the name, address, driving licence number, part of the form, then it says we can't proceed any further, is there anyway of contacting them apart from phone which takes ages to get through, they are an absolute nightmare.
A load of old gobbledegook Jim, I have to now wait another 20 minutes before I can attempt it again, so will find out more of what the rest of it is says then.
It says this time "session timeout as your session was inactive for more than 20 minutes" I wasn't on there for more than 5 minutes while trying to complete the form, so not sure where it got inactive for more than 20 minutes from, maybe it's something to do with the industrial action, they have had recently.
I haven't had a letter, my d.l. expired in October 2020 but as we had 11 months grace, because of covid, have decided to renew it a bit earlier, or rather I'm trying to.
"What number are you putting in when it asks for driver number?
It’s not the long one it’s the one that’s about 8 digits" - it is the long one, you are talking about the licence number nit the driver number.
No that doesn't work either, it's saying the drivers number is 16 numbers long, and even after trying both lots of numbers the website is saying timed out, so off to the post office I go.
