Factory Settings

I have an old Samsung phone and an old Apple iPad which I want to give away. If I go to Factory Settings to delete everything will my new phone and iPad be safe and still have everything on it? Sorry I am not technical. Also how do I revert to factory settings on phone and iPad? Thanks all.

smurf, restoring to factory default will make it harder for the new owner to access your data but it will still be there on the drive.

I have deleted everything except if I delete my emails on the old iPad, they are deleted on my new one … thanks Barry
