I don't have a smartphone & I'm thinking of getting a low-priced small laptop for an upcoming visit to England so I can get on the internet. Looking at this one, what do you think?
Barely enough RAM, tiny amount of storage (less than 44GB free), lower than full HD screen. For that price you could get a much higher performance smart phone, with much better screen, more RAM, and more storage.
It's got a very short battery life and a teeny tiny SSD, but that's what I would expect for the price. I suppose it is worth a punt, it is usually easy to return to Amazon if it's rubbish
@ 8.22. N.B. ... and 1TB SSD Expansion ...,Expandable up to 1TB.
Still a nice little machine for basic browsing. Bluetooth and 5Ghz wifi, comes with 64gb hard drive. Has 2 USB3.0 ports so a cheap wireless mouse would help.
Togo; So the one in my post at 8:22 looks good then ?
barry; I'd rather have a larger screen than that of a smart phone, & I'll be coming over by car, so carrying isn't a problem
The second one is better than the first, worth a go. Although it's not sold by Amazon it is despatched by them so it should be easy to return if you don't like it.

Good? ... Only in so far as it will get you on the web handle email accounts and comes with w10 loaded. The screen is bigger than a mobile phone display and you can plug a wireless mouse in for about £10 to negate the hateful touch pad. Other than that there is not much capacity on delivery and you will soon find it full just with normal usage. Apps and extensions are a no no if you don't want to bring it to a state of permanant buffering but you can increase the hard drive to up to 1Tb. This is normally cloud capacity on similar machines, but for the price and ease of use in an hotel it would suffice. It would not do for me, or most people, as a long term or high usage solution.
