Who Said Online Trading Was Easy ?

Twice lately my credit card has been compromised (I only ever use it online, it never leaves the house, so details are leaking on the net).

As a result I have to get my card locked and obtain a replacement - and this can take quite a long time in my experience, especially with the current state of Royal Mail.

This morning I got an e-mail from a trader where the card payment had failed (for goods already received), demanding I call them on the number given urgently. The e-mail was from a noreply address.

Alas, I have run out of credit on my mobile and am unable to top it up because of the locked card.

What we in the IT business used to call a deadly embrace.

I dread to think how all this is polluting my Credit Rating.

So, who said online trading was easy ? Online trading security needs considerable beefing up in my opinion. The much-vaunted two-level-authentication is a joke.

When you say "trader" what do you mean, Ebay seller? Amazon? I buy everything on line never had any problems. Though I use paypal where ever possible.

Trader = regular meal box supplier. They do not provicde a Paypal option (I too use PP wherever available).

Since losing my driving licence I am very dependent on deliveries for food and other essentials.
Question Author
Note: I am not saying this supplier was the source of the leak.
Are you 101% sure that the letter from the trader is legit?
