Bt Text Message Received On Landline From A Mobile Phone
9 Answers
Yesterday I phoned a friend (he is housbound due to a stroke) on his mobile from my BT landline and I received the message "the call cannot be answered right now. Please leave a message after the tone"
I did not leave a message, but called his landline instead. After we ended our chat, I received a text on my BT landline (cordless phone) from my friend which read "I'll call you back
He said he did not send the text as he does not know how. It seems that his mobile can auto-send a template message if there is an app installed. So if the person cannot take a call, the text is auto-sent to the caller.
I have never experienced this before and hope the call was genuine.
I hardy ever use my mobile and have never sent a text ! Yes, I am ancient diinosaur I know :)

Unwittingly it would appear, your friend has been party to setting up this facility on his mobile phone.
NB: Had you not subscribed to BT's Called Display the SMS text from your phone would have terminated as a voice mail. Subsequently a BOT would have read back the message.
