Hi,
Have a new CD/DVD external drive but it won't connect, keeps trying (making a noise on the PC like it is trying) then disconnecting (again, making a noise on the PC). It loads ok on another PC, the cdrom.sys driver is there on both PCs. I ran a driver updater, it isn't mentioned. When I look at Devices on the PC I want it on, it is "there" but always says unavailable.

Search YouTube for recommendations: https:/
Ensure sufficient voltage is supplied to the external drive using a powered cable or a USB hub connected to a power adapter.
On the PC, install a video software that is reliable at detecting and playing DVDs. My choice would be Kodi. https:/
If possible and applicable, try restoring a backup of the working drivers from the other PC.
