Desktop/Laptop Desk Top Organising & Operating Software For Win 10

this is quite hard to search for because of the word desktop.

I was wondering if there is any desktop software, that is 'for' the desktop itself - to organise the icons, folders, & any other short cuts, links etc.

To make it sort of a dashboard, a control centre.

windows used to have Widgets which was quite good

any ideas?
