Ps To Question About Failure Of Copy...

This is a follow up to a recent query, (thanks Buenchico!) - my hotmail account has apparently been hacked into and an email supposedly from me has been sent which eventually asks for money. I want to change my hotmail password, but it is not easy. I cant change it via the normal channels via my Microsoft account, it accepted the change to my security info but I have to wait 30 days apparently before I can change the password. Is this really so? Is there another way?
Any advice please.

I lost everything as in photos, messages and letters and whatever else but it was worth it to get away from Microsoft.
