I don't know what I did but my laptop has  virus. How can I fix this? It says Microsoft security alert, your window is blocked because your computer is  infected with trojan viruses and it is infecting Microsoft servers, please call support immediately and do not shut down or restart your computer because it will spread the viruses more and all of your data will be deleted

^ I shut it down as I couldn't listen to it any longer! What can I do now, please?

I presume this is a scam. Why not run a virus check and see what it comes up with?

Question Author

I'm afraid to do anything in case I make it worse, do you think it is safe to do that?

Was It actually blocked or was it just a message saying it was?

Question Author

It gives Windows Support number to phone. There is also a 'Scan now' notice at the bottom of the screen

ellie; There are some good people here who will probably turn up soon. If you are nervous about turning your laptop on, then wait for advice from them.

Question Author

Khandro, it is blocked. I can't get rid of the notice

I wouldn't pnone up or click on any buttons like 'scan now' until you've heard from one of the experts here.

Question Author

I have turned it on again just to see what it says

Do you know that the phone number is definitely for Windows Support? Sounds like a scam to me.

Question Author

A voice keeps on repeating the warning and I can't switch of the volume

Try holding CTRL + alt + delete together

The voice thing makes me think it is even more likely to be a scam.

Question Author

Barry, do you think it is safe to do that?

It's a scam, have you got an anti malware product?

Question Author

No, I just rely on Windows

It's a scam, Microsoft would not do anything like that.

Disconnect from the web immedialtey (shutdown your modem if necessary).

under NO circumstances click any buttons.

After just pulling the plug shut the laptop down.  If it wont soft close then yank the battery out (if you can).

Once shut down fire it up and see what happens.

If it happens again its probably infected so seek advice.  Tell then it is possibly infected so they dont fire it up on  a Network (They probably wouldnt anyway if they are competant).

100% scam. Some work shy shyster trying to rob you.

Question Author

It's frozen so I can't shut it down the way I normally do. I just pressed the button at the top right corner. I don't know how to remove the battery!

Question Author

Now when I press it on again and press Sign in it's still there!
