We always have a cold type of little buffet on Xmas Eve, so we've got a selection of various cheeses & crackers, pate, a smoked salmon terrine, several dips & breadsticks/tortillas, and a cheeky little trifle! TV is playing Home Alone at the moment- have seen it endless times but always makes me smile. Will see what's on later on in a bit.

So what about everyone else?X

I'm sticking some Tescos nibbly bits in the oven in a mo, once I have a free oven from pork pies and bread.  Once I have had that, I shall do my floral decs for the dining room.

Kings on at the moment - will have a peep at the P.of Wales bash - then there's a Christmas Uni Challenge and, on C5 catch-up, the Christmas All Creatures Great and Small.

Find myself here as two sisters out of the UK and the one here has had her 3 men go down with flu - so no way José as to being exposed to that. Food - some of the remnants of a roast Creedy duck from last night with steamed baby pots and fine beans - and a huge Portobello loaded now with olive oil and balsamic and about to be put in the oven. All with a cracking good red wine and I'm about to open the bottle for that. Happy Eve, all......

Having a quiet evening, daughter with partner and his two kids, grandkids with their father and partner, six cats asleep in various places along with 3 dogs, other two with daughter and all will be back later with grandkids. Watching P of Wales concert and old memories flooding back as Do You Hear What I Hear was written by Noel Regney and Gloria Shayne, neighbours and very dear friends from when I lived in the US

More memories tomorrow as the King recorded his speech at the Fitzrovia Church which was the chapel of the Middlesex Hospital where I trained as a nurse and a group of us visited it for the 50th anniversary of starting our training. It is a beautiful building

Went down the street, everything. closed/closing so bought a loaf to go with a lasagne and fritatta from the fridge + Cruzcampo.

Feliz Navidad.

I seem to have picked up a cold, so an early night with hot toddy probably on the cards.  In the meantime surfing YouTube for comedy extracts from golden oldies (e.g. Two Ronnies, Fawlty Towers, Vicar of Dibley, Dinner Ladies, etc.).

It also means it's likely to be nice hot curry for lunch tomorrow, always good for a cold I find.

I think these 4 naughty boys must have been told santa isn't going to bring them any toys this year.

Watching The Matrix Reloaded, and have just finished a bowl of creamy scallop pasta...followed by a glass of red.

Just watched Red One with Mr Planks and the eldest Feral. Youngest Feral is wandering the house, eating, and wishing the hours away.

Quiet Christmas for us. Mr Planks had surgery yesterday for mouth cancer (his 3rd go at it), and is recovering.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Wishing Mr Planks a full and complete recovery.

Merry Christmas to you and your's Smow.
Well after I just watched Ghostbusters - Afterlife, Just finished the few bits of wrapping I had to do, also just getting stuff ready for tomorrow, going to Bro and SIL's then we all go across to Mums together, as I usually spend a couple of nights there packed a few bits.

After just getting over a cold not sure this time if I'll be staying or not but on the safe side not having A Tipple this evening... however cupboards stocked with goodies.
Relax and watch TV... no idea whats on mind.

Thank you Pasta

I've been out doing some last minute Christmas shopping today.  The self-service machine in Morrison's decided to play up and it took a manager over 20 minutes to sort things out.  Despite me being honest and telling her that she'd left me with £40 credit in 'Fivers' knocked off my bill, even though they were still available for spending on the More app, she said just to leave it.  So I got £40 for nothing!  [Happy Bunny Number 1 for the day!}

Then I parked up next to the River Orwell, to 'play radio' from my car for about 50 minutes.  I'd normally only expect to get a handful of European contacts in such a short time but I ended up speaking to fellow radio amateurs in 5 European countries, 13 different US states , the Canary Islands, Canada and southern Brazil! [Happy Bunny Number 2 for the day!]

I've been catching up on some sleep this evening but I'm about to listen to an old edition of the Navy Lark (my favourite programme) on the internet with one cat sleeping on my knee and the other two safely nearby.  [Happy Bunny Number 3 for the day!]

Then I'll be heading down to our local community centre bar for some Christmas Eve nibbles (which I've helped to fund) and a drink or two. When I get home, I'll check out what's on the telly.  [Hopefully, Happy Bunny Number 4 for the day!]

Merry Crimbo everyone!

Selection of indian type food in a buffet format (no curry though). I'l be honest don't really like it but rest of family do. Sinuses were bugging me so don't feel like going out. Going to watch some tv in bed I think. Nowt wrong with a calm quiet christmas is there?

Watched 'It's a wonderful life' followed by the Princess of Wales carols ... all satisfyingly Christmassy.  😋

Has anyone watched home alone today?

Nothing special here. I've been faffing around with food, present-wrapping, table-laying for tomorrow while Husband was watching boring old black and white films.

Been to Christmas Eve service, lead the singing. Came home, fed happy dog. Answered worried phone call from daughter -in- law, fielded questions from kids and family.  Made scrambled egg and bacon and ate most of it.  Spent some time politely declining wonderful invites to Xmas lunch. Tried to get along with Sat. Tel. Xword..... not an easy  one and I switched on here as a bit of light relief.

Trying to plan tomorrow and hospital visit to OH.

I wish every single one of you a very happy Christmas.

Life's too short for too much squabbling.

Love, Jourdain2 x

I watched What's Up Doc (Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal) which I haven't seen since I was a teenager. I had forgotten that Judy's last line is "Love means never having to say you're sorry".

Jourdain, I hope you and OH have a lovely Christmas, despite him being in hospital. Treat yourselves with lovely food and sneak in a few tipples.
