I managed to find a company in England that would supply cat food to addresses in N Ireland.  I bought two bags costing almost £80.

I've just had an email from Hermes saying they were delivered at 12:48.  It included a photograph of the package sitting outside the front door.

It's gone.  What to do now?

Apart from that?

Have you checked with your neighbours to see if they picked it up?

Were you in when they delivered it, did they ring the door bell (if you were in )

Did you give them permission to leave the package?

Oh dear. Would your neighbour have taken it in for you? If they thought you had gone out maybe could have taken it in for you? Whatever has happened to it, I hope there's a happy ending!

Contact the police, see if anyone local has caught the thief on camera (ring doorbells) Take it up with the company that the courier didn't leave it in a safe place but in full view of the street.  Also contact Hermes as there are dodgy couriers who photograph parcels and walk off with them so they need the info. Also put in a post parcel complaint under 'unsafe place'

Lost parcel

Look out for a very fat cat .

£80 for 2 bags of cat food! What was it - caviar?

Two big bags of James Wellbelloved 'grain free' food.  You pay for quality.

Cat burglar ?

Contact the seller, it's their responsibility to get the goods to you

Go back to the company you bought it from. It's their responsibility to ensure you receive it.
There was a similar problem in an article in one of the weekend newspapers. I assume it's the same in NI as it is in England.

Is it definitely your address and were you in when it was delivered?

Question Author

I'll wait until tomorrow before contacting the seller in case some neighbour has taken it in.

I was in,  but the delivery man didn't ring the bell.  There is a photograph of the package sitting on the doorstep.

The illegals are robbing populace of anything which isn't nailed down (& some of that too!).

Shoplifting is out of control & my wife watched a programme on TV yesterday where the farming community she said, are losing millions across the land, tractors, equipment, food stock - you name it.

And still these young men pour in daily: uneducated, low in IQ & high in testosterone, - but boy can they thieve.

Sorry for you theft sandy.

Contact the seller as the courier made no attempt to deliver to you in person and you were in. There's no excuse and they must resend the package.

Courier places parcel on step and takes photo. Picks up parcel and takes it with him/her.

The recipient must have at some time agreed to have it left outside the house, otherwise it hasn't been 'delivered'.

I have agreed to this with several carriers, but in my case where I live, nobody steals anything, in fact I seldom even lock my doors.

Thats one reason I have high quality CCTV all round the house Togo.  I have used it in similar incidents to this and proved said package wasnt delivered at all.
