Just Stop Oil Declares Victory
"Just Stop Oil’s initial demand to end new oil and gas is now government policy, making us one of the most successful civil resistance campaigns in recent history. We’ve kept over 4.4 billion barrels of oil in the ground and the courts have ruled new oil and gas licences unlawful. So it is the end of soup on Van Goghs, cornstarch on Stonehenge and slow marching in the streets."
evidence that protest can work?

Ok so it's "government policy"...for now and thats because we have a complete loony in that area. This or a future government could flip that back at any time. More than that we are just one small user of fossil fuels. Id give them more credence if they got one of the big three to change something.
Just stop Just Stop Oil, I say. A spokeswoman for JSO was on the radio yesterday claiming victory but she was torn to shreds by a guy (can't remember his name) who said all they have done is criminalise some of their followers who are now in jail when they should be planning for their futures, and will always have a criminal record to explain away. They have achieved nothing.
