Good first time laptop?

Hi there - I'm looking to buy my first computer and have decided i want a laptop just to do word documents and surf the web - What one should i get and what is a good shop to buy from?

Ive been told to get at least 512m of RAM and 3 USB ports

Is dell a good bet? I dont want to spend more than i have to but do want a brand new one

go onto dell's website, and just look for the one that suits you most. you should be able to get one to fit your needs for around �300.
