What do u put in the address bar to get into ur netgear router??

I can remember having to put something into my address bar inorder to get into my netgear router...to put wep on and stuff...does anybody know what it is??

Ive just put that in and it says

"we cant find 192.168.0.1"

Any idea's on what to do??

Are you putting in ONLY the numbers? No http or www needed.

All i put in was

192.168.0.1

Do u have any idea y its not taking me to my router...is there something i have to do b4 putting these numbers in??

You might have set your router to different IP address. Try going START>>>RUN>>>type in "CMD" or "COMMAND" and a black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig/all" and you'll get the ip address for the router. type that into your browser address bar and you should get your router config page up.

Try http://192.168.0.1

try resetting your router - should be a reset button on the back (you will need a pen or similar)

Or 192.168.1.1 (works for my Linksys)
Could be 10.0.0.1
Both of those ranges are used for private network IP addresses.

Some routers also have special software or telnet based access in addition to/instead of the web based configuration.

Also, the router takes some time to boot up, you should give it a minute or at least 30 seconds at least.
