vhs to dvd

I have started to back up some videos to DVD using the following method:

Power Cinema to b/u from VCR to PC HDD. This creates 4 (or more) MPEG4 files.

I use these as input (running NeoDVDPlus) to convert files that are then ready for copying to DVD (still using NeoDVDPlus). The file size expands to up to 9GB and therefore not possible to store on one DVD using 'Best' quality. Unfortunately if I use 'Better' quality the quality of the resulting DVD Video is extremely bad. The MPEG4 created earlier is good so the question is: what alternative is there to NeoDVDPlus that will give a better result and that will fit on one DVD?

Simple answer is use a different bit of software I use Power Producer that takes a video source and puts it straight onto DVD without having to re-encode :-)

Thanks for your reply...and obviously it fits on one DVD and quality is good?

You can set the quality to be either LP, SP or HQ (Long play, standard or High Quality).

Depending on which one you choose will define how much you can fit on a disk, for SP (which is more than ok for home video) you can get about 3 hours, if you go for HQ then you are on about and 1 1/2

I say don't go for Long play as it reduces quality.
