wma to mp3
6 Answers
Why convert wma to mp3? I've read through other answers but I'm not clear:
do wma's take more or less space than mp3's?
which, mp3 or wma, has the best sound quality that is recognisable to a regular person?
Thanks

The sound quality is down to the bit rate they are transfered to, the higher the bit rate the better the quality but also the bigger the file size.
The biggest problem with WMA's is the lower level of support from devices such as media players and car stereos.
I converted my 3000 CD collection to WMA about 2 years ago, I don't regret converting to WMA because it saved me a fair amount of space and therefore money, but I now have to be a little more picky when looking at devices to play them on. However you can convert from WMA - MP3.
Personally I'd go for MP3 if doing it again.

There is also MP3pro, a version of MP3 which is compatible - to my knowledge - with all MP3 players. They work on my car CD player (mp3) and my personal player. They are smaller than WMA's, and offer in 128bit the same quality as ordinary MP3 at the highest bit rate.
Dunno about other recorders, but this is available on Musicmatch, where you can also convert existing MP3's to pro's.
