Winfixer cookie removal
Can anyone tell me how I can remove this cookie. I delete it via Spybot, or even manually from the cookie folder (and with restore disabled), and within seconds it's back. This even happens when not connected to the internet.
I stupidly brought the Winfixer program after getting nagged by it when I was having problems . Recently the Microsoft AntiSpyware discovered the program and advised me to delete it, which it did for me. But I still have this cookie. Help please.....
Thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Go through the startup items and determine what you can turn off and prevent from running at startup. The command column will give you an idea as to what the program might be. If something is quite cryptic, do a google search and the first couple of results will tell you what it is.
All you really need to startup when your PC boots is antivirus and firewall software. You may want other stuff to startup as well, like MSN Messenger or Skype. It's not necessary for some software to check for an update every day, so uncheck all that kind of rubbish. This should make your PC quicker to start and also get rid of your Winfixer problem. Let us know how it goes.

Nice to know I wasn't the only person who wasted money on Winfixer.
I installed HijackThis, and found two Winfixer entries. I selected both but only one was removed (wnfxrhlp). This however fixed the Winfixer Cookie problem. Spybot hasn't found it for two days now......
The remaining entry in HKML... Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\OXZMSEPL\WinFixerScannerInstall[1].exe" -nag/ just won't go even after trying the CCLEANER.
It doesn't seem to be doing anything and I can't see it running in MSCONFIG startup, so will see how it goes.
Thanks again for your replies and advice.
