wireless networking question
5 Answers
We have a wireless router connected to our broadband modem. We also have one desktop pc with wireless card and one laptop with wireless card. We can both use the internet connection independently of one another, but we also want to share files and can't seem to do this at the moment. when setting up a home network should we call it 'router' where this is the name of the existing connection to the router, or should we give it another name such as 'mshome'. Are the two types of connection (internet and file sharing) differerent? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

My Computer - my network places - set up wireless network.
This should sync the two for you so that you can file share.
File sharing is different - you can share an internet connection but exclude file sharing.
The setup assistant should make it easy for you.
That is the most forward explanation I can give at this stage. If you have specific problems later on, more details can be given.
Good luck!
