McAfee - don't know much about it but a reputable product.
Why not try one of the free products out there ? I use them and have no problems with them. AVG from Grisoft or Avast. Both work well and are regularly updated.
Couple that with a decent firewall and some good free Spyware software - Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy and Spyware Blaster and that's all you need.
I've had problems with McAfee (to the extent that I uninstalled it) and know a few other people who have too.
The UberGeek who just fixed my PC (wasn't just McAfee - hardware problems too) said that when Vista (the new version of Windows) is released soon, you won't need any other security programmes.
Just to say that BillyNoMates might not have any mates but he's right about the spyware/adware removers... it's wise to have at least two if not more installed on your system and that they be ran regularly. One just doesn't pick up all the nasties.
I use Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot Search and Destroy, and (dare I say it) Microsoft's Windows Defender (used to be called Microsoft Antispyware), which are all free to download. I also use AVG antivirus and ZoneAlarm and my PC's never been happier ofr faster with any other security setup.
