Is This The Final Nail In The Coffin For...

I don't know how long this has been going on, but I first noticed it about a week or two ago.
Every once in a while (a few times a day), a memory card drive appears on 'my computer' under 'disks with removable storage'.
It is called memory_card on 'Hp0014c243e6fb'
I have no idea what this is, and when I try to click on it, I get an error message. I am, however, able to click on 'disconnect', and I do as soon as I see it pop up.
Does anyone have any idea what this memory card is, and if it is something malicious?
I have norton antivirus and a firewall, but I am worried about this :(

If so it simply could be being recognised by your machine every so often. When you manually disconnect from a removable storage device, Windows will disregard it until an event occurs, such as a restart or boot-up of the PC, at which time it may try to connect again.
If you don't have a memory card reader per se, do you leave a digital camera plugged in or something similar? If so, this may be being treated as a card reader.
from the 'Hp' part of the address i would guess its a crad reader in a Hewllit Packard printer.
I would say if this is so then it would only appear whilst the printer is switched on and connected (i.e. after printing or scanning something) and the shortcut in my computer would be automatically hidden when not in use.
