Buying more RAM
How do I go about increasing the RAM on my computer? It's 192mb, and the computer is noticably slow. Do I need to look for a specific sort? or is RAM just RAM and will suit all computers? Sorry, I don't know anything about it! How is it fitted inside?
Thanks!

They guarantee compatibility. I thought the price was reasonable too and ordered on-line. It arrived next day.
The site has easy to follow instructions. In fact it was a lot easier than I expected. Just a couple of screws to do up and that is it! Literally 10 minutes from start to finish.
And the PC detected the new RAM automatically.
No problems whatsoever - and I did feel proud of myself!
There are many sorts of RAM, and it is a very complex area, so you need to make sure you buy the correct RAM for your PC.
The type of RAM you need is controlled by the MOTHERBOARD in your computer. See if you have any documentation that comes with your PC about the motherboard, and the RAM it will take.

On that motherboard the memory fits in the 2 long blue slots on the top right.
All motherbaords have a maximum amount of memory it can take and you need to find out what your maximum is. It may be 256Mb or 512Mb or 1Gb and so on.
Motherboards have slots for memory, usually 2 slots, but some have 1 or 3 or 4. This will define how many memory cards you can put in your PC.

Once you have the memory it is very easy to to fit. Just make sure you put it in the right way round, and dont FORCE it.
