Parking tickets query
My son thinks there is a possibility that they may not have completed the ticket to the letter, ie. the sections for issued or not issued have not been completed, plus they have put the address of the bus company and not his home address. Is there a web-site that gives advice on these matters?
Any help welcome.

not sure how the law stands, but i do know that in the area i live, the vehicle has to be switched off and/or no one at the wheel....
lets do away with public transport all togeather ! then we can all use our own cars and have untold amounts of polutants in the air. lets cancel air flight, and trains. dont forget the ships with blooming great big funnels spewing smoke into the oceans.
Tell him if he sees the jobsworth tw@ts again, run them over at least twice.
If you drive a company vehicle they take the companies address I would not pay it because its not issued by the Police. Next time always switch off your engine with your light on do this many time over the course of the day across over the whole fleet wont be long that the company has too replace starter motors, also if you switch off as soon as you stop then the Turbo does not get time to get oiled while still being worked depeens on make of fleet. If you where leaving in the few mins then you have too keep the air tanks filled with air before driving off.
Never leave the motor running with the engine running. 12 years on Ex London Buses
To the other, more intelligent replies, I would say that my son did not switch off the engine, as they sometimes will not restart. He is allowed by law to idle for 5 minutes (Ethel please note) but he was just getting back into the cab, and they had him for about 30 seconds over the limit.
All very true. Ive come out of the depot in the early hour and in the depot the buses have been left running for over 45 min before departure so the engine has warmed up.
On one occasion I left the bus garage on a cold engine 10 minutes into the journey to the starting point the engine seized on a busy two lane by the lights. Dont worry the Council Officers know they would pay up.
If you say that you was 30 secound over your allowed time say that you ticket machine does not do secounds and that it only does minutes so until it reaches the 4 minute it still reads 3 minutes. All the best I will saving this question so would like to know the outcome.
Good Luck

It is an offence to leave engine idling unnecessarily - and if this bus driver has done so he should pay the fine.

And would you really want to push a baby in a buggy behing a bus with its engine running?
Or even alongside one on the pavement - I wouldn't.
