hi,

my laptop screen is broken, can i connect a monitor to the laptop and use that?

if so how - do i just plug it in?

i don't think the lap top has one of those sockets (you like a kettle lead type)

but will it work if i can find a monitor that has a different connection?

many thanks

Your laptop should have a 'monitor out' socket which is the same as the back of a normal pc. You can plug this straight into a monitor without any problems. You will need to plug the power lead (kettle type) from the monitor straight into the mains as opposed to the back of the laptop.

You may need to press a button on the laptop to get it to access that port - refer to your user's manual. I did the same to an old laptop. I need to press Alt F5 if memory serves correct to get the laptop to output on the monitor
If you can't see the screen on your laptop though, you might not be able to configure the monitor
