I'm considering enrolling in a computeach course. Is it worth doing?

I asked a few pertinant questions, didn't get a straight answer, and eventually walked out with the impression they were more interested in getting your money than anything else. Of course, that is just my opinion - hopefully (if they exist) someone who has actually done this may be able to answer with more knowledge.
They have a very bad name in IT, don't touch with a bargepole. I've worked in IT all my working life and they've always been considered a Joke. Postdog is correct they care only about getting your hard earned.
There's no substitute for a proper IT course at your local college, won't be as quick but you get a job much more easily.
Someone prove me wrong but I have never heard of anyone getting a job as a direct result of a computeach course.

ditto above, I'm an IT Freelancer of over 10 years experience, have worked with many, mnay people over the years, nobody I have ever heard of has got a job via this route.
I'm sure somebody must have, but they are in a distinct minority.
Like in many other careers, I'm afraid IT is the same - the good jobs require a lot of experience. If only I had a pound for every person who assumed I was overpaid because I was "just a bit handy with computers", completely overlooking the many of years of study, hard work and cr@p pay at the bottom of the career ladder!
The only way in (without experience) is to find someone who will recruit a raw trainee...these positions do exist, but competition is high.
Good luck, its a rewarding career once you are up and running, but I can't help looking at the Computeach courses with a healthy degree of cynicism.
