I've posted this question before but didn't get any answers that worked. I've got an advent laptop thats only a few months old. For some reason the keyboard no longer works. It was ok until I started using a new one. I only used a new one so that the numbers were on the right instead of above. But since then the laptop keyboard doesn't work. This is waht happen when I type LAPTOP - 3a-t6-. Does that make sence and can anyone tell me how to change it???

I know exactly what has happened and have it tried it myself to make sure.

You simply have the number lock on.

If you look at the keys on the top row you will see one that has NumLk. You need to press this, perhaps with the Fn key or Ctrl key, whichever works for your keyboard.

You may also have a little on at the very top of the keyboard which is a warning light that you have number lock on.

thank you so much. It worked with the fn and number lock. I know somebody else with the same problem so you have helped us both. Cheers
