XP status bar at bottom - can't get it to be a single bar.
2 Answers
Sometime tonight, something strange happened and my status bar at the bottom went from a single line to a double line width, and I cannot get it to go back. It's not locked, I can move it to the top and sides, drag to increase size, and I have tried a restore operation, but it still stays double no matter what. Any suggestions, apart from hiding it completely.

I managed to duplicate the problem by adjusting the taskbar so that the language bar was on a separate row from the other buttons. At this point it was impossible to reduce the size of the taskbar, or move the language bar back to the same row.
To solve the problem, I clicked the langiage bar and selected "Show the language bar". This caused the lagauge bar to be shown separately at the top of the screen, and the taskbar to revert to its correct size.
I then minimized the language bar, which put it back on the taskbar without affecting the size of the taskbar.
Hope this helps...
