Error message
4 Answers
Hi to all you technical experts out there in cyberland. I have an annoying problem. I have a laptop running windows xp and it has three users on it. Last week when any one of us signed in we got an error message that reads as follows (all script is as in message i.e. upper and lower case, spacing and full stops are exactly as message) SmartBridgeAlerts:BTHelpNotifier.exe.EntryPointNotFound This is in a blue heading bar In the grey box underneath this there is the following message - The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL Then there is an OK button underneath. If you click the OK button nothing happens - the message stays on screen The only option is to click on the little red x button in the top right hand corner, which closes the box. It doesn't seem to have made any difference to the operating of the laptop, but it is annoying having it pop up every time you start up. Any ideas what has happened and how I get rid of this?

Anyway, apparently there are 2 possible solutions:
1) Go to add/remove programs and remove SmartBridge - apparently it's some sort of (not particularly efficient) net optimizer.
2) Find the Smartbridge folder that is probably in C:\Program Files (you may need to search for this). Rename the PSAPI.dll to something like PSAPIOLD and then reboot, This should create a new PSAPI.dll.
