Can anybody recommend a good ant-virus programme that is available for cheap (or even better free) online? The Norton 2002 programme I use has stopped being supported and I can't really afford to buy the latest Norton version.

Make sure you also get a spyware checker and firewall. AVG is very good, but it's just a virus checker.

Zonealarm, Kerio are two good free firewalls, and Adaware is a good free spyware protector.
I use Spybot, its the same one businesses use, but its free to home users, excellent.

Comodo are a new company offering excellent FREE anti-virus and firewall programs.

Here is their anti-virus program:

On a side note, Spybot is not an anti-virus program its an anti-spyware program - well worth using aswell though.
Get last years Norton off ebay very cheap, then free support for a year.
If your ISP is BT then you can download Norton Antivirus & personal Firewall for free.
