I recently bought a cd writer at a computer fair, but it will not allow selection fo a multi-session dsik when I use Nero: I dont want to burn a whole disk every time I do a minor backup of data from the pc.
I wanted to try using Easy CD to see if multi-session can be selected with that. I have an old cd writer that came with Easy CD Creator version 3, but version 3 is not compatible with XP, it doesnt load correctly when XP starts so when I try to do an update of easy CD to one that is compatible with XP it says there is no version of Easy CD to update
I aksed Roxio about this but they couldnt advise how to install easy CD (version 3 is too old for them to support, they say).
Anyone any ideas on a source of a free version of Easy CD that is not an update, that I can install (and update) to try this?

just a thought:-
Just use XP to burn to the disc. If you put the disc into the drive, XP will see it the same as any other removable device, and you can just drag and drop files into it. Xp sorts the rest and you have an automatic multisession disc.

I did use the resident writer in XP at my local library, some time ago, but either it wouldnt do a multi-session disk or I couldnt find out how to make it do it!
But yes, thanks for the suggestion, I will give it a go.
It should help me decide if the drive really is not capable of doing multi-session, which I have never heard of before, but you never know! I did look for a spec for the drive on the net before but didnt find much: there is now some more data on it but it's still not clear.
Anyway, thanks once again.
I've definitely used the XP burner for multi-session discs. IIRC, it's based on Roxio's software so I'd guess that if it doesn't work, then ECDC won't either!

Take a look at eBuyer if your drive is no good - I got a DL DVD writer with Lightscribe for around 25.
