If you have a genuine Windows XP CD then do as follows.
No need to uninstall XP first.
1) Go into the BIOS and set the boot order so the CD is before the hard drive.
2) Put the CD in the drive and start the PC. Should "boot" from the CD.
3) You get asked a question about doing a "clean" install (cannot remember exact words). Select this.
4) When asked, format the hard drive. This will remove the old Windows.
5) The new install will start. Follow the instruction as you go.
6) During install make sure you set the keyboard and langauge as UK.
7) At the end of the install (may take 30 minutes or more) remove the CD and restart the computer.
8) Should now boot from the new Windows on the hard drive.
