Odd emails

Today, I received 2 emails, neither of which had a subject title or any indication who it was from. I`ve had mail with no subject before (from known sources) but never with the sender blank. How can this happen? I automatically deleted them without opening them on the basis that it was safer that way and if they were genuine, then the sender would eventually realise that I`d not received them.

It is possible to do this, or at least use a space character for the name, etc. Sounds like spam though, so you're best doing as you did.
