Disconnection from internet
7 Answers
Before I make a very expensive phone call to Orange, can anyone offer any idea as to why my ISP should disconnect me from the internet while I am working, every 10 minutes or so - sometimes less? Orange will not offer any help unless I telephone their help line, at exorbitant cost. This has only started since Orange 'upgraded' all former Wanadoo customers several weeks ago and I had no bother previously. Has anyone else been affected?

This happened to me! No problems with Wanadoo until Orange took over and I was lucky if I even had the internet.
It cost me a fortune in calls but I wrote a letter of complaint saying how frustrating I was getting and they re-imbursed me for 3 months for what I was paying!
I've since left and gone to another ISP, Talk Talk and I've gone from bad to worse!!
I'd write to them first to see what the problem is and demand a refund or tell them you'll go to another ISP!
Good Luck!

Thank you both for your replies. pc work - I have a broadband connection that is independent of incoming telephone calls. Sorry I am not very technically minded but I know that phone calls do not affect my broadband.
originalspa - I'm glad I am not the only one! I have written to Orange and they say they cannot answer my query and that I have to speak to one of the 'technical' staff. You can guess that this is the expensive phone line. I don't see why I should have to pay for something which they have done in their so-called 'upgrade'. Humph!
