iTunes - computer crash

My laptop hard drive recently crashed and I lost all my files including my iTunes library (which was unfortunately not backed up). Is there any way of copying music from my iPod back on to my computer without losing everything currently on the iPod? As there is no back-up on disk I would have to re-load all my cd's otherwise and I had over 1200 songs on it!
