My 5 year old pc now takes 4 mins to fully boot up, not a lot on hard drive, what could be slowwing it down please

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.My guess is you have a lot of programmes in your start up folder - so they all have to go their cycles before you are fully booted.
If you are not familiar or comfortable tinkering with the start up, there is an excellent free little programme. You simply untick the programmes you no longer want to start automatically - but if you change your mind/make a mistake, it is very easy to re-tick it.
