a couple of weeks ago you recommended the
www.accomputerwarehouse.co.uk
for a new pc. I wanted one with at least 40gb and 512 MB RAM and the Compaq EVO D510 P4 2.4 GHz is 200 pounds, but is it any good?
BUENCHICO: Have you ever had a problem with this company? How long have you had pc from them for?
Thanks very much for help. Id like to buy it this week and dont need massive amount of space as Im using Itunes, making internet phonecalls, messenger and internet explorer mainly.

It was despatched promptly and well-packed. It was also impossible to tell that it wasn't new. (The keyboard, mouse and speakers were all brand new and boxed. The base unit and monitor were in perfect condition and the monitor picture was superb).
When I set it up for my friend, I encountered just one problem - the speakers didn't seem to work. I phoned up ACCW. The phone was answered immediately and I was put straight through to their technical guy. He was polite, pleasant and helpful. Within a minute, I'd found the solution to the problem. (I'd plugged the speakers into a socket labelled 'speakers' but this was on the modem card. I just had to transfer the plug to an unlabelled socket on the sound card). Unlike many firms, who seem irritated when you speak to them on the phone (if you can ever get through), this guy was obviously determined that his firm should provide the best possible customer service.
Since then, I've recommended ACCW to several other people (or ordered from them on behalf of others) and I've heard nothing but praise about their products and their service.

PS: Compaq PCs are used by many major businesses because of the quality of the components they use and their subsequent reliability.

Thanks very much for your help! I always pay careful attention to your suggestions hence why I bought the Dimage camera and posted that Dublin ticket via Airsure etc... so Im deciding between the Compaq EVO above and this one from PC world (also refurbished):

Its 100 extra but does come with a year guarantee but money is tight!
