D.VD/CD. drive D in H.P. Laptop
3 Answers
Yesterday I installed and ran a programme I bought for my granddaughter. Therefore the drive was working ok at the time.Today I tried to install another disk and get no response from my drive apart from a slight clicking sound.I went to My Computer ,located the Drive D icon but get no response when clicking on it.Could the disk I used Yesterday have caused the problem or is it co-incidental? The disk was a genuine one from Morrisons called Riding Star .Is there anything I can do to rectify it or is it case of taking it to be repaired?

It could also be coincidental and the fact is that your c/d drive is defective and needs replacing.
Have you noticed any other problems with the laptop for example accessing other programmes.
Which operating system are you using, if XP you could try using system restore to go back to a date when all was well
